Honoring A Great Friend

This week, Park University joins Kansas City in mourning the passing of R. Crosby Kemper, Jr.  A self-proclaimed “maverick from the herd,” Kemper was fiercely loyal to Kansas City, and Park counts itself among the many successes made possible by his love of and commitment to Kansas City.

Most recently, Kemper led the charge to launch the Park Warrior Center, with a generous financial donation and his charismatic support, well-known in local philanthropic circles. His unwavering support in the late 1990s significantly helped to shape Park University’s future.

Facing a period of financial uncertainty in a time of record high interest rates, Kemper appreciated Park’s values and strong foundation. Through UMB, he offered Park an affordable loan package that no other lender was willing to match.

A great friend of Park University, R. Crosby Kemper, Jr., was instrumental in the launch of the Park Warrior Center.

With the financial lifeline, Park survived to become a leader in global education and a pillar of the community. Thanks to Crosby Kemper’s loyalty and belief in Park, we have been able to continue our service to those who serve their community and country.

As we mourn the passing of one of Park’s great friends, we renew our commitment to honor the legacy of R. Crosby Kemper, Jr.
